  1. Can you further explain how connecting one of your leads to the top of the triac and the other lead to one of the pins can test a short circuit? Please correct my terminology as well if I made an error, I am trying to learn.

  2. Hallow friend I live in London I wondered if you fix controllers from my electric bike if I could send you it by post live in London I do
    Let me know respect Edward

  3. I would like to correct a language missspel: the labels in the coffee machine circuit are surprisingly written in Italian, where:
    "macina" means the hash, used for coffee beans;
    "porta" is the command to open the door;
    "fondi" is the command for something that collects coffee residuals, called fondi, "the bottom";
    "sonda flusso" is the connector for a flow sensor, maybe for water or coffee.
    However, it’s amazing fixing things without even knowing what they are. It’s mastery.

  4. Porta means door in Italian, that will be checking that the coffee machine hatch to service the thing is closed.
    Fondi means grounds in Italian, that will be monitoring for when the grounds container needs emptying.
    This seems to be an Italian coffee machine from all the markings.

  5. nice channel man i love soldering and recapping old gear and i’m great at soldering. but i have no clue how to diagnose, so if i dont know what’s wrong i’m useless. Also i dont care about gpus i love to repair old audio gear

  6. I’m dealing with electronics for 20+ years. These videos are shining gems to see how to think in a structured way and I can still improve.
    Do you have any good advise to find out the component type which was completely burned? Majority of the time the component and wiring diagrams are not available.

  7. the heater is shorted with ground , i got those all the time , and i just remove the ground , works like a charm .

  8. I’ve been using Knownpcb for years, and they’ve never let me down. Excellent PCBs and fast delivery!

  9. I’d love to send you an old receiver that stopped working that i absolutely loved. Instead of tossing it, I’ve held on to it hoping that one day I could find someone to work on it.

  10. I was in a factory maintenance class for a multi-million dollar HD digital video router made by Thompson. The circuit boards were $50 thousand each. One of the factory engineers was there auditing the class. I asked him how they fixed returned broken boards. He said, "We don’t. "

  11. i have a anritsu sitemaster the display has gone all scrambled its not the screen as ive replaced it if i send it to you do you think you could repair it i believe the schematics are not available

  12. How did you know (ie. what told you) that that voltage regulator was a negative voltage regulator? That feels like a it would be a significant factor when diagnosing a board. (Asking as a novice/hobbyist still learning my way around at 34 years old)
    Also, what would the benefits be of using a negative voltage regulator over a positive voltage regulator? I have experience with using 1117 regulators in a few PCB designs and this is the first time I’m hearing of a negative voltage option.

  13. Hi, can you probably do a video on how to check a power supply board on a guitar effect processor rack unit. AC to AC with board mount transformer. The power board connect to the main board module. Typical on an audio unit.

    My unit is having bootloop issue. Wont be able to turn on normally.
    A forum suspect it’s the power supply board or module doesn’t supply enough power required as it used to. Thank you đŸ™đŸ»

  14. Hi LER and everyone. Have you got a video you can recommend please so learning will be a bit easier to understand Thankyou.

  15. I’ve recently been repairing my infant daughters toy electronics. Extremely simple circuits. Most of the time it’s just a rusty battery contact or some piece of dust/dirt shorting something. I have next to no knowledge about electronics. But I know that electricity always flows back to the source. So ID the main circuit, secondary circuits, and so on and so forth. I get to be the hero when my child’s face lights up when her toy works again!

  16. I’m watching this video to learn industrial electronics repair. I do industrial maintenance and we have burner control cards in a furnace from Krom Schroeder that have a 56 week lead time. I’d look so good if i could repair them even if it takes me 6 months to figure out how.

  17. Thanks for sharing..i wonder if the subwoofer amplifier transistors SCR A16AH couldn’t find the parts can replace it with others transistors?

  18. 36:46 I love this approach to any kind of diagnostics and repair! So often just repairing the obviously broken/faulty thing is only half the story and few people take the time to contemplate why or how the fault occurred in the first place!

  19. HI L.E.R and everyone. Can you kindly recommend a video that will simplify how to fault test components, what the readings will be on every type of meter, for instance I commonly see electronics repairs people using a multimeter and sometimes a E.S.R meter, apart from voltage testing and continuity testing which I have mostly carried out, I would know how to take a reading of circuit board components but I wouldn’t know if the components are faulty by viewing the readings with either ESR or Multimeter, I hope that all makes sense, sorry if I waffled slightly to much, Thankyou for Great video.

  20. Stumbled upon this, while looking to learn to diagnos electronics. Love every bit of it. Knowledge from someone so experienced in life and in electronics repair is worth Gold. The patience and explaining every bit of the diagnosis and to end with wise words, repairing GPUs isn’t half this interesting and commercially viable. Thank you for doing this.

  21. Great video! Only thing I heard was you mentioned that PTC’s decrease in resistance as current increases. This is actually backwards. Current will cause the thermistor to increase in heat and resistance. The increased resistance is what reduces the higher currents so it does not over stress the system.
    Once again a great video though!

  22. I really enjoy your content. I let it run while I’m hobbying or doing repairs on tools, appliances, electronics, etc.
    My only complaint is that there are entirely too many commercial interruptions. And if I don’t continually keep physically interacting with my phone, your content is replaced with ads. Never once in the history of the internet have I rewarded having my train of thought derailed by doing business with the culprit. I have loved doritos since childhood and used to eat 5 13oz bags a week. I got so disgusted with their advertising strategies that I almost never eat frito lay products anymore.
    My point is, to the powers that be, if you want to lose my business, show me an ad.

  23. You have my Fluke. I found mine in the trash – three of them the factory threw out. It was the first electrical thing I ever repaired. All I had to do was clean the terminals on the display board. Still works 30 years later.

  24. Nice video, I enjoyed the "journey" from mains input to step down transformer to bridge rectifier to other components until the final faulty Triac was found! In addition to mention that the CAUSE of failure should be checked is a huge bonus! Thanks for this video. Also one more thing to note that the component that’s on the heat-sink is also more likely to fail due to the amount of high heat it goes through so that may be worth noting but not in all cases.

  25. I have a PSU from a Midas F32 console that has gone bad and I’m trying to do this exact process to hopefully fix it. Thank you so much for this video! If any professionals out there that think they can help, I would appreciate it!
