please slow taking down
Iâve had Eufy for 3 years now and it was great the first year. However, it started to go downhill after that. The camera couldnât detect as far as it did originally. The detection angle changed too. It wouldnât detect as easily as it used to even when set to the highest sensitivity. The biggest issue is the camera sometimes go offline for days. You have to manually reset the camera or wait for it to come back. For reference, I have the 2K cameras on the old base. Overall, I wouldnât go with Eufy again even though they have all the bells and whistles.

Hi, does it need internet connection and online account to work ? Or is a local wifi network with no internet connectivity sufficient to connect to the base station to access video footage ?

I was thinking about the ring camera since they have the ability to do 24/7 recording. I know that a subscription is needed. I currently have the cheap screw in light bulb cameras and they will only show about a 4 second clip without a subscription for about a $100 a year. To make matters worse two of the cameras died and the final one is good quality clips, but I now have to sit through non-stop ANNOYING ads. I was at costco and they had these cameras on sale. I’m not sure I could hard wire the floodlight camera without having to hire an electrician. I’d like to know your opinion on the ring or eufy. Thanks for the video review.

Hi, is it possible to make a schedual for the geofencing, the home and the away? Now you have to choose one and when using the geofencing and your at home, your alerts arent working at night. You have to change it all the time.

I’ve had one of these since January. I’ve been loving it. Over that last 3 month it’s not been getting any solar charge. I know I’m in the UK and the sun is a myth to us.
But when i took the camera to charge i noticed that water has gotten under the top of the solar panel.

My s340 only picks up people that are in front of the camera. It only seems to have a narrow tracking area.

I wanted to check my home eufy security cameras today but was not allowed unless I accepted their NEW TERMS AND CONDITIONS. I purchased these cameras a few years ago and agreed to their Terms and Conditions at that time. If I didn’t accept I had 30 days to return them for a full refund. Today they basically stole my cameras and will not give them back unless I bow down to them and allow them to invade my privacy further and steal more of my personal data for their benefit. I called them for a return and refund of these cameras since they disabled my system, but was basically laughed at knowing that I could do nothing about it. Now I have $1000 useless camera system installed on my house. This is a disgusting thing that eufy has done to me and thousands of others. They have disabled my property that I own and they can get away with this because we can’t do a dam thing about it. I had been very unsatisfied with the performance of the cameras. they do have many issues with their AI and are very unreliable and get much worse with time. My doorbell cam is the worst and will record all night long in 5 minute videos and miss someone who walks across its view at anytime. To make matters worse, their tech support is nothing but an answering service with no answers or help, absolutely horrible. I was planning to replace these cameras later this year with a POE system, but forced to do it now. Don’t waste your time and money on eufy.
Eufy is the absolute worst, clunky and poorly designed ecosystem in the universe. You have been warned.

Great video! I’m also a heavy Homekit user and also have a couple of 2nd gen Eufy cameras. I do like seeing their live feed on my Apple TVs and I do have an automation that turns on my porch light, full brightness when motion is detected after midnight till sunrise. On the con side, I hate the 1080p limit for recording videos in Homekit Secure Video. What’s the point of having a 4K camera if I can only see the image at 1080p in HK? Very frustrating. Although Eufy recently released a HK-compatible set. I’ll look into it.
Thanks Dave. Have an Arlo system and just added a new camera, but had to upgrade the software. I think Arlo’s software was written by a 5 year old. Horrible. So looking at non subscription options. Great review.
For uninterrupted recording on Eufy e340 floodlight & s330 solar cams, what matters more… Internet speed or Wi-Fi 6e or 7 router? And what upload & download do u recommend?

These cameras are garbage. I purchased 6- 340 floodlights. They worked for about 6 mo’s and suddenly each one started having issues. I contacted Eufy. They gave me options that I already did. DO NOT BUY THESE CAMERAS. They don’t even record anymore at night. Did everything I cud even removed it and reload them and nothing. I will NO LONGER pay attention to any reviews. Instead.. ask the ppl that have them for a while.
I live on a Main Street so idk how well the solar powered battery would work because idk if I would want to remove the car detection in case of thieves.

since the new Gen-3 is no longer Apple iHome compatible, what about setup of a Eufy security camera system with a display other than a cell phone?

Don’t be fooled by the Eufy cameras. The video it saves to the SD card can’t be transferred or stored off the app. If you try to connect it to your computer, it will be encrypted and you can’t access the files. Eufy support told me that my only option is to use the playback feature on the app and screen record the video using my phone. Yes. They want me to screen record 12+ hours of footage every day in order to store it onto my laptop.

I say DON’T BUY EUFY, They changed their privacy policy the NEW PRIVACY allows them to share or sell your personal information when you hit the âagree to or acceptâ button. If you don’t agree they block you from viewing YOUR purchased cameras. They are changing the rules after the fact. My guess is 95% of people will not take the time to begin to read the 100 pages of the new privacy policy, but 4 or 5 pages in it states they can basically do whatever they want with your info. If you decline their new policy you are locked out of viewing. By the Way Eufy is a Chinese company. I didn’t know that when I bought my systems. THIS HAS TO BE AGAINST OUR LAWS. I may write the state attorney general. I feel bad for the people that never read their NEW policy and just accepted it to be able to use their systems. Their website has not updated the privacy policy to reflect their New policy, still shows and is worded like they totally protect your info. BS
Are there wireless cameras good? How long does battery last? I have 3 blunk cameras that i can grab and take to a different floor … no wires but it doest detect much nor it records đ
